Overview
The main switching device, operating mechanism, and key components are equipped with original ABB components. The switchgear can be configured with different switching devices, including load switches and vacuum circuit breakers, according to customer requirements. The operating mechanisms are available in manual and motor operated versions.
The enclosure is manufactured using CNC machining and finished with a high-quality nano-coating, providing excellent corrosion resistance, moisture resistance, and mildew resistance. The product features a compact design, lightweight construction, an attractive appearance, easy operation, long service life, high performance, excellent pollution resistance, and low maintenance requirements.
The XGN15-12 ring main unit is suitable for 50 Hz AC power distribution networks at the applicable rated voltage and is used for the reception and distribution of electrical energy.
Cabinet Structure
- The ring main unit enclosure is fabricated by riveting 2 mm thick aluminium-zinc coated steel sheets, or cold-rolled steel sheets with a powder-coated finish. Two pressure-relief openings are provided at the rear of the enclosure. This design helps maximize personnel safety and ensure reliable operation of the equipment.
- Individual compartments are provided to ensure functional separation and safe operation.
- The busbar compartment is located at the top of the enclosure and is connected to the adjacent switchgear units.
- The load switch is an independent unit filled with insulating gas.
- Approximately 75% of the cable compartment space is allocated for cable connections, fuses, earthing switches, current transformers (CTs), and voltage transformers (VTs).
- Operating Mechanism Compartment and Interlocking
- The compartment houses the operating mechanism and mechanical interlocking system, as well as position indicators, auxiliary contacts, trip coils, voltage presence indicators, andinterlocking devices.
- The relay compartment is located at the top of the enclosure and is optional. The compartment can accommodate optional devices such as meters, relays, and motor-operated mechanisms.
- A vacuum circuit breaker (VCB) can optionally be installed below the load switch.
